Sep 1 The Menorah: A Wonderful Part of Judiac Festival

The beautiful Chanukah menorah is used throughout the eight days celebration of Hanukkah. The Hanukiyah is a Hebrew word which is used for menorah. Some people also call menorah as a candelabrum or candelabra. The old menorah had seven branches. Each and every branch of menorah represents one day of the week & it glow olive oil. The new beautiful Chanukah menorah also had similarity with seven branches, but when the first & second holy Jewish temples were damaged, the very first seven branched menorah were no longer lasted.
Seven branched menorah is presented in nowadays which represents the missing of the first beautiful Chanukah menorah & as in its respect. These days, the most ordinary menorah has eight branches along with the 9th branch to carry the candlestick which is used to light up the other candles on the beautiful Chanukah menorah. On the very first night of festival, one candlestick is light up, the candlestick on the far right side of the menorah. It is light up by the Shamash candle which is also known as the server candle.
The 9th candle of the beautiful Chanukah menorah:
The Shamash candle is placed in the center of the beautiful Chanukah menorah. On every next night of festival one additional candle is light up on the menorah. The candlesticks are positioned in the beautiful Chanukah menorah from right to left on the menorah, but they are light up from left to right. By the 8th day of the festival celebration, all the candles on the menorah are lit up.
